AGM 2010 Short Report
The Guest Speaker at the organization’s
Annual Meeting was Phillip Chalker, Convenor
of Baw Baw Club Wild accompanied by Andrew
Murray, the local shire’s Rural Access
Project Officer. Club Wild is one of Australia’s
leading community arts organizations run
by and for people with disabilities. The
club is supported and was auspiced by the
Brotherhood of St Laurence. As well as
detailing aims and objectives of the Club
the accompanying video illustrated the
obvious enjoyment that participants gain
from the activities and events organized – dancing,
group singing, playing in instrumental
groups and ensembles as well as technical
and production skills. Phillip delighted
the audience with his rendition of a club
song written by participants at the first
workshop held in this area.
On the same evening a presentation was
made to Mr. Keith Pretty to recognise the
contribution he has made over the 14 years
since his appointment as one of the Patrons
of the organization. His considered and
thoughtful advice is much appreciated by
the committee.
As well a booklet entitled, “A survival
guide for Eisteddfod parents: a light hearted
guide compiled from tips generously provided
by weary veterans” by Kathryn Bordonaro
was launched at this meeting. It answers
questions such as: What is an Eisteddfod?
How do I enter? What happens after I have
entered? What happens on the day? The Eisteddfod
has Kathryn’s permission to market
this publication.
